The
mature height of the shrub is definitely something to consider. The cute little
2 foot Pyramidal Arborvitae, planted 2 feet from the house, will definitely
make you more cautious the next time you plant something. This little plant, in
10 years, will be practically tearing the eaves off your house; and folks it is
just starting to grow. When it is done it will have reached 30 feet with a
10-14 foot spread.
Do
your homework when choosing plants; or at least cheat and look at your neighbor’s
full grown plantings. Yes, cheating is fine here, but don't make a mirror image
of their design; neighboristicly that would be right up there with the Mother
of the Bride and the Mother of the Groom showing up sporting the same dress.
