Picking Plants For The Landscaping

Some things should be kept in mind as you choose landscaping plants for each side of the house. Make sure you take into consideration the trees on your property. A 15 foot Maple, in the front lawn, 25 feet from a house that is facing south will turn a full sun situation into a dense shade problem in 15 years or so; thus killing every sun loving plant you have planted.
The mature height of the shrub is definitely something to consider. The cute little 2 foot Pyramidal Arborvitae, planted 2 feet from the house, will definitely make you more cautious the next time you plant something. This little plant, in 10 years, will be practically tearing the eaves off your house; and folks it is just starting to grow. When it is done it will have reached 30 feet with a 10-14 foot spread.
Do your homework when choosing plants; or at least cheat and look at your neighbor’s full grown plantings. Yes, cheating is fine here, but don't make a mirror image of their design; neighboristicly that would be right up there with the Mother of the Bride and the Mother of the Groom showing up sporting the same dress.

  1. This is a very interesting article for us humans. We should plant more trees and stop cutting them in order to produce paper. This article is very informative. Thanks for sharing it.
